Full-Time Student Expectations
General. Students are expected to be on time to sessions. Students should dress appropriately for the lesson and the weather. Students’ behavior is important to their success in the program.
Behavior. Students are expected to follow the coaches directions and act appropriately throughout training sessions. Coaches are responsible for teaching and should not have to continually correct behavior. If a student has continued behavior issues, EAI Tennis reserves the right to ask that student not to return to lessons.
Academics and Study Time. Students are expected to follow the Academic Monitor’s directions and act appropriately throughout lunch time and study sessions. Academic Monitors are responsible for facilitating a quiet and disruption free learning environment for all full-time academy students, and should not have to continually correct behavior. If a student has continued behavior issues during study time, EAI Tennis reserves the right to ask parents to find an off-site solution until behavior improves. If students are not enrolled in an academic session, she/he must bring a reading book, work book, or other academic work to stay busy. Playing games on electronics is not an appropriate pass-time. Students WILL NOT be allowed to play games on electronics at any point during the program. If a student needs special accommodations, they will need to be approved by the Program Director. Students MUST bring the following to study sessions daily:
*A book to read- paperback preferred
*Device for online classes and/or materials for homeschool learning
*Headphones (to avoid disrupting one another with lessons and video chats)
*Calculator- Cannot use Cellphone as a substitute
*Scratch paper/pencil
Electronics Policy. EAI Tennis has a strict no electronics policy. Watching videos and playing games on a device during academic breaks is not allowed at any point. This policy will be enforced by Coaches and Academic Monitors. Students have access to books and board games after academics are complete for the day. If you wish to reach your child during academic breaks, please call the academy line directly at (214) 699-7090.
Equipment and Attire. Proper dress code will be enforced. Students are expected to wear the proper attire for training. Students must bring
*Adequate tennis shoes (2 pairs)
*A spare sports outfit for second session- they sweat in the morning and need fresh clothes
*A rain jacket for rainy days
*Swimsuit for swimming days
*Extra socks
*1-2 hats
*Sunglasses
*Towel or sweatbands
*Waterproof Sunscreen (kids sweat)
*At least 1 water jug
*Sweatshirt (for indoor breaks).
